Teen arrested over high school blaze, says officer Authorities are investigating the death of a 13-year-old boy in an apartment fire Wednesday morning in Elgin after discovering it was part of a large marijuana-growing operation in a rural area. The Elgin fire department responded around 10:15 a.m. to a call of a small-scale marijuana grow inside a building in the 8200 block of Dickson Road, according to the police department. Upon arrival, firefighters found a number of marijuana plants, as well as numerous drug paraphernalia in a garbage pit in the yard, said Elgin Chief Mike Koller, who was in the department for the day. Officials found five large pipes and another 6.5-foot-tall, 5-foot-wide container containing three to six boxes of marijuana, Koller said. In addition to the marijuana, they found a large, wood-burning stove and a heavy-duty garbage bag. "It was a good looking place, and it was probably the largest marijuana house we've ever seen on this side of the state," Koller said. "We would assume the owners made a good profit on it." About an hour later, about a dozen police officers were involved in a search operation, according to Koller. Officers used two dogs and found no additional suspects. Officers also took several pieces of equipment from the residence. Police also found a backpack containing a metal frame from a mobile home. Curtis Azzara, a 13-year-old junior at East High School, was in class around 4:20 a.m. when the fire broke out and firefighters arrived just before 4:30 a.m., according to his father, David Azzara. David said his son and another student were sitting in front of a window when the fire began, and he heard several explosions. He said a girl, also a 13-year-old, and another male student were injured in the fire. The younger boys were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where they were treated and released, his father said. The other boys were not hurt, but the girls were able to be brought to the school because they were uninjured, he said. Azzara, a member of the Elgin City Council, said he is devastated to learn of his son's death. "For us to lose a 17-year-old boy, and this is in the middle of the school year, is shocking," he said. "He was such a good kid. I'm just in shock." Koller said the Elgin fire department is looking into a number of potential drug-related violations, including marijuana cultivation, sellin 우리카지노 우리카지노 Tea party topples another republican (Trump) GOP establishment seeks to prevent any serious threat to conservative principles and candidates Wasserman Schultz, an alumnus of Liberty University, announced on Sunday her retirement from the state Senate The head of one of the largest national conservative political organizations plans to exit the GOP in 2018. The head of the organization that founded the tea party movement on Capitol Hill — which in 2012 helped defeat conservative President Barack Obama in the election — announced on Sunday her retirement from the Senate, where she worked for nearly four decades. Wasserman Schultz had been chief executive and co-founder of the conservative political organization Club for Growth. The announcement from Liberty University's David Lane, the group's president and a Republican, was particularly effective in wooing a Republican in Wisconsin to exit the chamber. Climbing out: The former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman now plans to spend her career running for office Lane said in a statement he plans to become a state senator 'if there is a Republican in the majority in that seat'. Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr said in a statement on the Senate's website that he plans to 'continue his advocacy efforts for conservative values and ideals'. 'The Liberty University mission is the advancement of liberty, justice, peace and virtue as set forth in the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence,' it said. 'Liberty's mission, which we have been at liberty since founding in 1787, is to provide training for citizens who value freedom, the Constitution, and the rights of man to pursue success in life.' Former GOP House leader and former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland is also leaving the state Senate, citing ill health and the need to focus on other interests. House Speaker Paul Ryan is a possible Republican candidate, too. Ryan could not be reached for comment on the issue. Reaction to Lane's announcement: State Senator Jim Hoagland, an Allegany County Republican, told MailOnline: 'The timing would suggest that he may be thinking about another run. 'For people who voted for him — who were surprised to see him walking off the stage, you understand what I'm talking about and I understand that he's upset about the whole affair. 'But a majority of his district voted for him. And if he had asked those who had voted for him to reconsider, he would have gotten at least 60
